Morocco 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Squad

The Morocco national team has officially unveiled its 26-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, with star names Brahim Diaz and Achraf Hakimi leading the Atlas Lions’ charge as they seek another memorable campaign on the global stage.

Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi named his final squad during a press conference held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat on Tuesday evening, confirming the players entrusted with carrying the hopes of an entire nation to the tournament set to be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Morocco heads into the competition with growing confidence following its historic run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where the Atlas Lions became the first African and Arab nation to reach the semi-finals.

That remarkable achievement transformed the North Africans into one of the most respected national teams in world football, and expectations are once again sky-high heading into the expanded 48-team tournament.

Several pillars from the historic Qatar squad retained their places in the travelling contingent, including experienced goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, defensive stalwarts Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui and midfield engine Sofyan Amrabat.

Paris Saint-Germain full-back Hakimi is expected to play a key leadership role for the Atlas Lions after another outstanding season at club level, while Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz will be relied upon to provide creativity and cutting edge in the final third.

The squad also features a blend of youth and experience, with exciting emerging talents such as Ayoub Bouaddi and Chamseddine Talbi earning places in the final selection.

Their inclusion signals Morocco’s intention to continue building a competitive squad capable of challenging football’s elite nations for years to come.

Morocco Group Stage Fixtures

Morocco has been drawn in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland and Haiti. The Atlas Lions will kick off their campaign with a blockbuster clash against five-time world champions Brazil on June 13 in one of the standout fixtures of the opening round.

They will then face Scotland on June 19 before concluding the group phase against Haiti on June 24.

While many observers consider the group manageable for the North Africans, Ouahbi has warned against complacency, insisting that every match at the World Cup demands maximum concentration and tactical discipline.

The Atlas Lions already appear to be gaining momentum after beginning their preparations in dominant fashion with a resounding 5-0 victory in their first warm-up fixture.

They are also scheduled to face Madagascar on June 2 and Norway on June 7 as part of their final preparations before travelling to North America.

Currently ranked eighth in the FIFA World Rankings, Morocco remains the highest-ranked African nation, underlining the tremendous progress the country has made in recent years.

Supporters will now be hoping the Atlas Lions can once again roar on the biggest stage and replicate the fearless displays that captivated the football world in Qatar.
