Kenya Police FC secured their spot in the final of the 2026 FKF Cup after a dramatic 5-3 penalty shootout victory over Bandari FC following a tense 0-0 draw at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
A decisive fifth penalty from Marvin Nabwire beat the Dockers’ custodian Joseph Ochuka to spark wild celebrations and ensure the law enforcers remain on course to reclaim the title they won in 2024.
For Bandari, the defeat marks a heartbreaking exit, shattering Bernard Mwalala’s hopes of recreating his historic 2019 cup triumph. The result sees Kenya Police FC progress to the grand finale, where they will face Tusker FC in Kwale on June 14th.

The feat marks an extraordinary milestone for Kenya Police FC head coach Nicholas Muyoti, who has now qualified for back-to-back domestic cup finals. Muyoti famously steered Nairobi United to a fairytale cup victory in 2025 before replicating his knockout magic with the law enforcers this season.
The match lived up to its historical billing as a defensive battle. In a remarkable twist of fate, both semi-final fixtures of the Saturday double-header had to be decided by post-match penalties following identical 0-0 draws in regulation time.
With neither side able to breach the opposition backline after 90 minutes of grueling action, the match proceeded straight to the lottery of post-match penalties, where Kenya Police exhibited ultimate composure from the spot scoring all five penalties.

Defender Kevin Ouma set the tone by rifling his opening shot into the top bin past Bandari’s substitute goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka, before Hamza Mubarak equalized for the Dockers after his penalty struck the woodwork before bouncing into the back of the net.
The Law enforcers’ captain Abud Omar and former Police man Said Tsuma both converted in the second round, followed by successful third-round spot-kicks from Clinton Kinanga and Shariff Majabe to keep the score deadlocked at 3-3.
Yves Koutiama then stepped up to calmly out Police 4-3 ahead, handing them a massive advantage when Bandari’s Frank Ouya skied his subsequent effort wide of the target. With a ticket to the grand finale on his boots, Marvin Nabwire stepped up with ice in his veins, calmly sending Ochuka the wrong way to seal a 5-3 shootout victory.
