DFB Pokal holders Stuttgart are aiming to reach a second consecutive final but they have to get past Freiburg in the semifinal set for Thursday night.
Stuttgart are desperate to turn things around after surrendering a lead to lose 4-2 to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga last weekend.
They take on a Freiburg side who are seeking a fifth straight win in all competitions, after a 2–1 victory against Heidenheim last Sunday. Freiburg also booked their place in their first ever European semifinal, thrashing Celta Vigo 6-1 over two legs.
Stuttgart have not conceded a goal in their last three Cup victories and are confident they can continue that form here.

Lucas Holer and Vincenzo Grifo will be the key components of the Freiburg attack, with the rest of the side remaining unchanged.
The latter has scored six goals in the competition and will be a key figure if Freiburg are to make it to the final.

Stuttgart vs Freiburg prediction
Despite there not being a stalemate between these two teams in over seven years, the pressure of a final appearance could make this a rather cagey match.
Stuttgart have been good defensively in the competition but Freiburg have found it easy to score goals – this may be the best bet for the game.
