DCI Dig Deep to Finish Strong

Kenya’s DCI wrapped up their Pool C campaign with a resilient four-set victory over Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in a match that tested both their mental and tactical discipline.

The Kenyan side came out firing in the opening set, applying consistent service pressure and executing quick transitions to dominate 25-17. Their blockers were sharp at the net, closing angles and frustrating the Nigerian attackers.

NCS responded in the second set, capitalizing on a few unforced errors from DCI to edge a tight 26-24 win and level the match. But DCI showed maturity, regrouping quickly to regain control. Improved coordination in the backcourt and more decisive attacking saw them take the third set 25-19.

With momentum firmly on their side, DCI raised the intensity in the fourth set, combining powerful spikes with disciplined defense to cruise to a 25-16 win and seal top spot in the pool.

KCB Cruise With Authority

KCB delivered one of the most polished performances of the day, sweeping aside Cameroon’s Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) in straight sets.

Their dominance was evident from the start, as a strong service game dismantled LTV’s reception, allowing KCB to dictate play and take the first set 25-13.

The second set proved more competitive, with longer rallies and improved defensive organization from the Cameroonians, but KCB’s experience at crucial moments saw them edge it 25-22.

The third set turned into a tense contest, with both sides level deep into the set. However, KCB held their nerve, finishing with a clinical attack to secure a 25-23 victory and maximum points.

KPC Maintain Perfect Rhythm

Kenya Pipeline Company continued their impressive run with a commanding straight-sets win over Senegal’s Sococim (SOC), underlining their credentials as serious title contenders.

The opening set was closely contested, with SOC pushing hard through aggressive attacking. However, KPC’s composure in the closing stages saw them take it 25-22.

From there, the “Oilburners” shifted into a higher gear. Their service runs disrupted SOC’s rhythm completely, while a well-organized block and quick offensive plays powered them to a dominant 25-11 second set win.

KPC wrapped up the match in style, controlling the play in the third set and sealing it 25-17 to complete a flawless pool phase.

Knockout Stage Fixtures

With the group stage now concluded, focus shifts to the Round of 16 where the stakes get even higher. KPC are set to face Seychelles’ ARS, DCI will battle Ethiopia’s NAL, while KCB take on Burundi’s Gender Light Club.

With all three teams carrying strong momentum, Kenya will be confident of extending its presence deeper into the tournament.
