The SportPesa League February 2026 Player of the Month nominees have been announced with four players up for contention for the monthly award.
Leading the pack is Shabana FC goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’ whose remarkable defensive display included keeping four clean sheets in all the four matches.
Ochieng’s month was defined by his reliability as he recorded 10 saves, 19 successful claims and 12 successful runout’s to anchor the Tore Bobe backline to four wins in four.

He faces stiff competition from Kariobangi Sharks’ Humphrey Aroko, who with four matches played, contributed significantly to the attack with two goals and two assists.
Aroko’s offensive threat was constant, as evidenced by his 13 shot attempts and five chances created for the Slum Boys. The youngster won four out of the eight points recorded by Sharks.
Joining the two is Murang’a Seal talisman Joe Waithira.
Waithira has been a constant menace to opposition backlines, racking up a five goals in just four matches maintaining a 67% shot accuracy from twelve attempts while creating ten additional chances for his teammates.
The December player of the month will be aiming to become the first two-time recipient of the award.

Meanwhile, Enock Morrison earns yet another nomination following a month of brilliance for the league leaders, contributing two goals across three matches.
Morrison’s impact was felt across the pitch, as he balanced his offensive output with defensive work, recording fourteen clearances and fifteen interceptions to facilitate Gor Mahia’s transitions.
The Ghanaian who has now received the most player of the month nominations will be hoping to bag his inaugural accolade.

Since title sponsors, SportPesa revived these monthly honors at the start of the 2025/26 season, the awards have become a benchmark for excellence in Kenyan football.
Gor Mahia’s Shariff Musa made history as the inaugural winner in October. He was followed by Ulinzi Stars’ Paul Okoth in November and Joseph Waithira in December.
Gor Mahia’s Paul Ochuoga claimed the January title for the club’s second of the season.
The winner of this month’s accolade will walk away with a customized trophy and a KES 50,000 cash prize.
