Posta Rangers will be hoping to put a halt to Gor Mahia’s 12-match unbeaten streak when they host the record Kenyan champions on Thursday afternoon in a rescheduled SportPesa League Round 22 fixture set to be played at the Nyayo National Stadium from 4PM.
The hosts are desperate to snap a ten-match winless streak and distance themselves from the relegation scrap, while K’Ogalo aim to extend their lead at the summit to nine points and solidify their status as title favorites.
Gor, who currently sit top of the log with 49 points from 22 matches, enter the tie in imperious form under Ghanaian coach Charles Akonnor.
K’Ogalo are riding a seven-match winning streak, most recently after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Mathare United thanks to a late Enock Morrison penalty.

Gor Mahia out to extend 12-game unbeaten streak
With perennial rivals AFC Leopards trailing by six points, the record champions will be keen to complete a league double over the mailmen, having already dismantled them 3-0 earlier in the season.
Posta Rangers occupy 13th place with 24 points and are coming off a late 1-0 loss against Murang’a Seal. The mailmen have struggled significantly for goals, failing to win a single match since early December.
While they have managed to get a few draws recently, facing the league’s most clinical attack and a side that hasn’t lost since the Mashemeji Derby in December 2025 will be a daunting test for the struggling outfit.
What the coaches said
Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor has insisted that the job is far from done with regards to chasing the title and they should approach every game with the seriousness it deserves.
“Six points gap is good, but it is not over. We still have to keep going. We still have to believe in ourselves, we have to continue to work, continue to believe in ourselves and see what happens at the end of the season,” he said.
On his part , Posta Rangers interim coach Charles Omondi ‘Korea’ says the club need to see out their games
“We have failed to keep a cleansheet in the last eight matches and that is something of great concern to us. There is work to be done. We will sharpen our defense to ensure we start being solid again,” he noted.

Head-to-head and current form
In the first leg of the 2025/26 season, Gor Mahia secured a dominant 3-0 win. Posta Rangers have not beaten Gor Mahia since January 2022, losing their last five consecutive meetings.
