SportPesa League leaders Gor Mahia are out to extend their lead at the top to nine points when they host Mathare United in the only match scheduled for Saturday.
Second place AFC Leopards missed out on the chance to reduce the point gap after they lost 1-0 to KCB on Thursday afternoon. Ingwe have 40 points, level with third place Shabana.
Kakamega Homeboyz (35) and Kenya Police (34) round up the top five places, with Homeboyz not in action until Monday afternoon against APS Bomet.
A win for Gor will stretch their already commanding lead to nine points before Leopards and Shabana battle it out in a highly anticipated clash on Sunday afternoon.

There will only be one match on Saturday, with three others scheduled to be played on Sunday afternoon. Afterwards there will be an action packed Monday of SportPesa League football, with four matches on the cards.
Here we have a look at the four weekend games and offer our predicted outcome following our analysis.
Gor Mahia vs Mathare United – Saturday, 4PM
The league leaders are in exemplary form, unbeaten in their last 11 matches. They also come into this game on a six-match winning streak as they strive to win a record-extending SL title.
Gor beat KCB 3-0 in their last fixture courtesy of three first half goals from Enock Morrisson, Shariff Musa and Samuel Kapen.
They face a Mathare side who have only won one of their last five games, and are fresh off a slim 1-0 defeat to Shabana. The slum boys are in 11th place with 26 points.
This will not be an easy task for the visiting Mathare who have not beaten Gor since a 2-1 win in 2023. Gor has won all the four games after that, scoring 10 goals in the process.
Prediction – Gor Mahia to win

Kenya Police vs Bandari – Sunday, 2PM
The early kickoff in Sunday’s SportPesa League action sees champions Kenya Police take on a resurgent Bandari at the Police Sacco Stadium.
Police snapped a three-game stalemate streak to beat Sofapaka 2-0 on Thursday, lifting them into fifth place with 34 points. They are only two points above Bandari, who currently occupy seventh place.
Bandari ended Murang’a’s streak with a comprehensive 3-2 win and followed that up with a 1-1 draw against Nairobi United. The dockers have only lost once in their last 11 games.
Bandari were 1-0 winners the last time these two sides met at the end of January. Each side has two wins in their last five head-to-head matches, with one resulting in a stalemate.
Prediction – Both teams to score
Murang’a vs Posta Rangers – Sunday, 3PM
Osborne Monday’s Muranga suffered back to back defeats since he took charge late last year. After a 3-2 home loss to Bandari, Murang’a then lost 1-0 to Tusker in midweek to push them out of the top five.
They are in sixth place with 33 points, desperate to bounce back and register all three points against Posta at the SportPesa Arena. Their opponents Posta are also coming off consecutive defeats to Shabana and Leopards.
Posta have just one win in 10 games, leaving them in 13th place with 24 points – just five above the drop zone. They have the advantage in their recent matches against Murang’a, winning three of the last five and losing just once.

Murang’a are favorites to bounce back here, especially with home advantage and recent goalscoring exploits of SL top scorer Joe Waithira – the midfielder has scored 15 goals in 22 matches this season.
Prediction – Murang’a to win

AFC Leopards vs Shabana – Sunday, 4:15PM
In arguably the biggest match of the weekend, second-place Leopards are keen to bounce back when they host Shabana at the Nyayo Stadium. Both teams come into the game level on 40 points.
The 1-0 defeat to KCB on Thursday was Leopards’ first in their last seven matches and they need to win here to keep up the pressure on leaders Gor.
They host a Shabana side who are in third place and could dislodge their opponents with a positive result here. They are unbeaten in their last seven games – winning the previous four before this clash.
Leopards boast the best defense in the SportPesa League, conceding just 13 goals in their opening 21 games. However, Shabana have tightened up their back line in recent weeks and have not conceded a single goal in their last four victories.
Both sides have two wins in their last five head-to-head encounters, with a 1-1 draw last March being the only stalemate between these two teams.
Prediction – Leopards to win or draw (1X)
