KCB Rugby head coach Andrew Amonde has revealed that there is still work to be done on his side despite an emphatic 45-3 victory over KU Blak Blad on Saturday in Round 6 of the Kenya Cup 25/26.
The Thika Road Derby clash played at the BladBin was fiercely contested, with both sides eager for the win.
KCB managed to dominate and extend their impressive run and unbeaten streak, even after being handed a red card and despite a 25-minute delay at the start due to the absence of a neck brace in the ambulance.

25/26 Kenya Cup Round 6 recap
Speaking to Sports Eye Kenya after the match, Amonde highlighted adjustments made from their previous outing, where they missed a bonus point.
He noted their starts had been somewhat slow in earlier games an issue they aimed to rectify in this encounter.
“I think one thing we noticed from the last game is we were very slow in the beginning, so we had to raise the tempo. We settled well into the match after just 10 minutes; the boys found their rhythm, executed their plan, and got the scores,” he explained.

The former Kenya 7s captain, however, emphasized that improvements are still needed following the Blak Blad match, particularly around discipline.
His side conceded penalties and received both a yellow and a red card after Richel Wangila was sent off for a dangerous tackle.
“We have a lot to work on. We received a yellow card and a red card, so discipline is a major focus for us. We will review it because we gave away penalties, and if those had been successfully converted, things could have been different.
It’s about addressing these issues, maintaining our composure, and knowing when to keep our discipline high also making substitutions early to sustain our momentum.”

KCB remains one of only three teams this season yet to taste defeat, alongside defending champions Kabras Sugar and Menengai Oilers.
Kabras ran riot over Nakuru RFC on the same day with a 55-8 win to extend their stay at the top, while Oilers narrowly edged out Kenya Harlequins 22-17.
Elsewhere, Kisumu RFC claimed their first win of the season by beating Impala RFC 29-22, and Strathmore Leos just managed to overcome Daystar Falcons 34-31.
