The UEFA Champions League resumes on Tuesday with top clubs looking to maintain their European title hopes as we go into matchday seven.

Arsenal remain atop the Champions League table with 18 points, three more than German giants Bayern Munich as the former continues to fight for a chance to win their first ever title.

PSG, Manchester City and Atalanta round up top five spots, all tied with 13 points. All with tough tests this week that have the ability to deter their high flying European form.

Villarreal and Kairat Almaty have only managed one point from their opening six matches and remain rooted to the bottom two spots.

As we prepare for loads of mouthwatering European action in midweek, we have a look at some of the top games from the first round of the two-day action.

Bodo Glimt vs Manchester City – 8:45PM

The hosts will not have time to adjust as they prepare to take on English giants Man City. Glimt have only played one competitive game since the start of last December.

There is no hope for the hosts as it is confirmed that they will be exiting the competition. With only three Champions League points to their name, Glimt are in 32nd place.

They face a City side who are coming off a demoralizing 2-0 derby defeat to United over the weekend. Pep Guardiola’s side will find confidence in the fact that they beat Real Madrid 2-1 away from home in their last UCL fixture.

Prediction Man City to win

Inter Milan vs Arsenal – 11PM

Two teams both on top of their respective leagues lock horns in arguably the biggest UCL game of the week. Victory for Inter will see them jump into second place, just three points behind Arsenal.

Inter began their European campaign impressively with four successive wins. However, their last two games have ended in defeat to Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

Arsenal on the other hand have been perfect in Europe, winning all of their six matches. Their last five has seen them score 15 goals and concede just once in a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in matchday four.

Each team has won twice in the last four games played between these two sides. This fixture has never ended in a draw. Inter were 1-0 winners the last time these two sides met in November 2004.

Prediction Both teams to score

Real Madrid vs Monaco – 11PM

The record Champions League winners have lost twice in their last three European outings. Defeats to Man City and Liverpool dropped Madrid into seventh place with 12 points.

Alvaro Arbeloa will take charge of his first European match at the Madrid helm. They will need to be at their best as they face tricky opposition in Monaco.

Despite being on a rocky run of form domestically, Monaco has only lost once in Europe this season. The French outfit are in 19th with nine points, looking to break into the top 10 with a surprise victory here.

Monaco were victorious the last time these sides met in the 2004 edition of the competition. They progressed on the now abolished away-goal rule after a thrilling 5-5 stalemate over two legs.

Prediction Real Madrid to win

Sporting Lisbon vs PSG – 11PM

Only three points separate these two sides in the UCL standings as Sporting look to extend their imperial home form here. Sporting have only lost once at home in their last 13 games.

They take on a PSG side who have also just lost once on the road in their last five games. Both teams are coming off identical 3-0 victories in their respective leagues over the weekend. Setting this up to be a potential blockbuster encounter when they lock horns.

PSG are hoping they can get all three points in this home tie, to keep up the pace with the top three teams, in a bid to defend their maiden title from last season.

Prediction Over 1.5 goals

Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund – 11PM

Yet another mega clash awaits as Spurs host German machine Borussia Dortmund at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

The hosts are coming off a shock 2-1 home defeat to West Ham. The defeat means that Spurs are now without a win in their last five games. While Dortmund were 3-2 winners against St. Pauli in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham will take pride in the fact that they have won four of the last five games they have played against Dortmund. The most recent being a 4-0 aggregate win in the 2019 edition.

Prediction Both teams to score
