Odhiambo departure leaves a massive void in the Gor Mahia squad. Since his arrival in 2021, he has been the creative heartbeat of the team playing a pivotal role in securing the 2022/23 and 2023/24 league trophies for the record champions.

During his time at Kogalo, he had his peak in the 2023/24 season with twelve goals and thirteen assists, earning him the Most Valuable Player award.

By joining Nejmeh SC, Odhiambo reunites with fellow Harambee Stars teammates Anthony Teddy Akumu and Masud Juma in Beirut.

The Lebanese Premier League side, currently managed by Tunisian coach Radhi Jaïdi, welcomed Odhiambo with a bold statement:

“We won’t talk much, the pitch will be the scale and decider. Austin Odhiambo, welcome to Lighthouse Castle.”

As Odhiambo’s exit is confirmed, the Green Army now turns its attention to the mid season transfer window which opens on 12th January to find a successor for the creative midfield role.
