Nairobi United coach Nicholas Muyoti has highlighted the key area they have been working on in training ahead of a mouthwatering fixture on Sunday against SportPesa League leaders Gor Mahia.
NaiBois will host the record champions at the Dandora Stadium, with the match set to kick off at 4pm EAT.
Speaking to club media on Saturday, Muyoti stated that they are anticipating a very tough encounter on Sunday, as both sides are coming from positive results in SportPesa League Round 14 during the midweek.

We expect a very tough match. Gor Mahia, of course, are the league leaders. So far they have managed to win their last game, just like us, and I think both teams are arriving with confidence. So we expect a very tactical and difficult contest- but we have prepared for it,” he explained.
Gor Mahia are buoyed by a narrow 1-0 victory on Wednesday against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Kasarani Stadium, courtesy of Alpha Onyango’s goal.
Nairobi United also come into the match on the back of a win by the same scoreline against Tusker FC at the SportPesa Arena.
“We had gone for a while without a win or scoring, but the victory over Tusker has lifted the squad’s morale especially heading into this fixture and that should show tomorrow,” Muyoti added.

Nairobi United coach Nicholas Muyoti outline plan to counter Gor Mahia
Having kept a clean sheet in that match, Muyoti, formerly of Nairobi City Stars, stated that they will be looking to build on that performance.
He also revealed one of the key tactics they have been refining to counter K’Ogalo on Sunday.
We managed to keep a clean sheet in our last outing and we need to build on that. We created several opportunities, and of course we will aim to defend well tomorrow.
Gor Mahia have been effective in transition, and we have worked on that aspect; shifting from defense to attack. We expect them to do the same on Sunday, and we are prepared for it.”

Gor enter this clash not only needing the three points to maintain distance at the top of the table especially now, as they are level with Shabana on 23 points, but also seeking to avenge a painful loss last season to the league newcomers, who defeated them 2-1 in the FKF Cup final at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
