Nairobi United vs Gor Mahia

Nairobi United has moved to quell growing discontent among fans by announcing a significant reduction in ticket prices for their upcoming SportPesa League clash against reigning champions Gor Mahia.

The highly anticipated match, scheduled for Sunday, December 21 at the Dandora Stadium, had initially faced a backlash over its steep pricing with regular tickets set for Ksh 500 and Ksh 1000 for VIP tickets.

The Nairobi based club has now reduced the ticket prices to Ksh 300 for the regular section.

Nairobi United reduce ticket prices ahead of clash against Gor Mahia

In a statement posted on the club’s social media handles on Friday, Naibois say the move was meant to limit the number of fans to the stadium capacity of the Dandora stadium which was selected with the country’s major stadia Nyayo and Kasarani booked for Entertainment events over the weekend

“Following the unavailability of a suitable venue capable of hosting a fixture of this magnitude, Nairobi United Football Club has been compelled to host the match at Dandora Stadium, our home ground.

Dandora Stadium has a lean seating capacity of approximately five thousand spectators, which shall be strictly accounted for between both clubs’ supporters, as follows Nairobi United FC: 2,000 tickets and Gor Mahia 3,000 tickets.”

In a bid to streamline access and enhance security, strict measures have been put in place for ticket sales and stadium entry with no tickets being sold at the matchday venue and all tickets being digital.

” All tickets shall be sold exclusively online via tikiti.co.ke. No tickets shall be sold at the gate.
Ticket sales shall close one hour before kick-off or immediately upon sell-out, whichever occurs first.”

The fixture pits league leaders Gor Mahia against newly promoted Nairobi United, who are making their debut in the top-flight this season.

The Sunday clash is reminiscent of the 2025 FKF Cup Final where minnows Naibois defeated the record league champions 2-1 in the final at the Ulinzi Sports Complex to seal the club’s first major title and subsequent qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup.
