SportPesa League fans are in for a treat on Wednesday evening as two recently struggling giants, Gor Mahia, will lock horns with Kakamega Homeboyz at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, from 4pm.
These two sides enter this match equal on 20 points, separated only by goal difference, with Gor Mahia holding fifth place and Homeboyz sixth- both aiming to return to winning form.
It is rare to see K’Ogalo go three matches without a victory, a feat they have already endured this season, collecting just one point from their last three outings.

After a 4-1 defeat to newcomers APS Bomet, they suffered a 1-0 loss to archrivals AFC Leopards in the first leg of the Mashemeji Derby, which they hosted at Nyayo National Stadium.
Their hopes of returning to winning ways were further dashed on Saturday when they traveled to Mombasa’s Mbaraki Sports Club to face Bandari FC.
Despite taking the lead through Ebenezer Adukwaw in the first half, their former youth player Geoffrey Ojunga leveled the scores with a second-half header, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
These results have seen the once league-leading side steadily dropping points- a trend under-pressure Ghanaian head coach Charles Akonnor will be eager to reverse to relieve the pressure on the record Kenyan champions.
To do so, they must overcome a Patrick Odhiambo-led side that has managed only one win in their past six league matches, along with four draws and a defeat.

Abana Beingo come into this match desperate for a victory after a disappointing outing in Round 13, where they squandered their lead twice against Shabana FC at Bukhungu Stadium, settling for a 2-2 draw.
Potiphar Odhiambo gave them the lead from the spot in the first half, before Bronson Nsubuga restored parity.
Oliver Majak seemed to have secured a late winner that would have sent them top of the table, only for Wycliffe Awiko to equalize in the dying moments.

The draw left Odhiambo frustrated as he reflected on their recent shortcomings.
“We have a big concern, especially in the second half. Whenever we make substitutions, we seem to lose focus. We have dropped many points this way, and we must fix it quickly,” said the former Gor Mahia assistant coach.
“I am not happy with the draw because we were playing at home. We must be ruthless and collect maximum points in our own backyard,” he added.

Meanwhile, Charles Akonnor blamed his side’s dropped points on the poor state of the Mbaraki Sports Club pitch and expressed frustration at how their game plan unraveled.
“We had a good game plan and scored in the first half. We couldn’t play our usual style because of the field, so we had to go direct. In the second half, the heat took its toll the players tired, our energy dropped, and they managed to equalize,” he explained.
“How we conceded was unusual. We instructed Morrison to drop back, but he didn’t, and Ojunga headed in. Had he been positioned correctly, we would have cleared the danger.”
