Kenya Cup rolls into Match Week Two this Saturday, November 29, with an exciting lineup of fixtures across various venues for both the top-flight league and the KRU Championship.

The competition’s heavyweights, led by Kabras Sugar, enjoyed successful outings in their opening matches last weekend.

They were joined by record champions Nondescript, KCB Rugby, Kenya Harlequins, Menengai Oilers, and Strathmore Leos, who all kicked off the 2025/26 season with victories.

KCB Lions set an early pace at the top of the log, following their commanding 87-5 victory over Impala RFC.

They lead with five points and a significant 82-point difference. Defending champions Kabras Sugar sit close behind in second place, also with five points, after their 67-6 win over MMUST Rugby.

The Oilers, Nondies, and Leos follow in third, fourth, and fifth place respectively, all level on points.

25/26 Kenya Cup Round 2 preview

This weekend promises more exciting action, headlined by a major clash between Strathmore Leos and Nondescript RFC at the Strathmore Sports Complex, kicking off at 4:00 PM EAT.

Both sides come into this match with opening-day wins.

The Leos narrowly edged out KU Blak Blad 32-30 in a thrilling Varsity Derby at the Blad Bin.

They will be aiming to build on that momentum and assert their dominance as title contenders against a Nondies side that itself secured a 36-12 victory over Kisumu RFC at the Ngong Racecourse.

Nondies are on a mission this season to reclaim the title they last won in 1998, hoping to end a drought of over two decades despite their status as the league’s most decorated club.

They will draw confidence from last season’s 22-16 win over the Leos and will be determined to extend that dominance.

This encounter marks the second time these two teams have met this season, having previously locked horns in the quarter-finals of the Impala Floodlit tournament in October, where Nondies emerged victorious with a 27-21 scoreline.

This stat sets the stage for a gripping contest: one team seeking vengeance, the other aiming to maintain its upper hand, promising a tight, end-to-end battle on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, debutants Daystar Falcons will be seeking their first-ever top-flight win when they host the formidable Kabras Sugar, who are unbeaten in the last three seasons, at the Daystar Athi River grounds from 4:00 PM.

The Falcons opened their campaign with a tough 76-16 loss to 2024 finalists Menengai Oilers in Nakuru.

The Sugar Millers, on the other hand, will be aiming to extend their supremacy in the Kenya Cup and solidify their status as prime contenders for another title.
