This final was the fourth encounter between the two sides this year, with the Morans proving dominant in all their meetings.
Their rivalry began in the group stage of the Safari 7s in August, where the Morans triumphed 27-7.
Although the Cheetahs did not face the Morans again directly in that tournament, they were defeated by the first-string Shujaas team in the semi-finals.
The two teams later clashed again in the Safari 7s third-place playoff, where the Morans emerged victorious with a 19-12 win.

At the Zambezi 7s, coach Kevin Wambua’s squad delivered an extraordinary performance, completing the tournament without conceding a single point from the group stage onwards.
The final was a tense affair.
After six minutes, the Morans were reduced to six men when Jackson Siketi received a yellow card and was sent to the sin bin.
Despite their numerical advantage, the Cheetahs could not capitalize, and a tightly contested first half ended in a deadlock.
The Kenyan side struggled to convert their opportunities, with a slippery ball leading to several handling errors.
The momentum shifted decisively in the second half when Zimbabwe itself was reduced to six men after one of their players was shown a red card for a dangerous foul on Chrisant Ojwang.
Playing with a man advantage, the Kevin Wambua-led charges finally broke the deadlock.
Floyd Wabwire shrugged off the Cheetahs’ defense to score the opening try, and Rayvon Ambale added the extras, giving Kenya a 7-0 lead.
The Morans didn’t have to wait long to extend their lead.
Mere seconds later, the speedster Wabwire struck again, punishing the hosts with another try to seal a 14-0 victory and clinch the fifth edition of the Zambezi 7s.
