- The Bidco United vs Tusker game was held at the Kasarani Annex on Friday evening.
- Dennis Oalo’s goal in the third minute was enough to seal the three points.
- The win moved Tusker into fifth on the log, level on points with third-placed AFC Leopards who also have 12 points.
Dennis Oalo’s strike in the second minute was enough to secure a third win of the season for Tusker who beat Bidco United 0-1 in a Round 8 SportPesa League clash staged at the Kasarani Annex on Friday evening.
Tusker head coach Charles Okere largely maintained the same starting lineup for the third consecutive match, with Oalo coming in for Eric Kapaito who was ruled out due to injury, as the only change.
For Anthony Akhulia’s Bidco, Simon Munala, Victor Kunyili, and Clinton Asiago were introduced into the starting eleven.
The game did not take long to burst into life as Oalo opened the scoring in the third minute, latching onto a Cliff Oruko pass to give Tusker the lead.

At the quarter-hour mark, Dennis Oguta missed a glorious chance to double the lead when Thomas Omole beat his marker and delivered a pinpoint pass, but his shot was saved by Issa Emuria with just the keeper to beat.
Bidco’s best effort of the half was a low shot by Clinton Asiago that was saved by Brian Opondo as Tusker led into halftime.
The second half was all huff and puff but Tusker held on to their one-goal lead to secure the win, their third of the season which moved them into fifth on the log, level on points with AFC Leopards who also have 12 points in third position despite having played two games less.
In his post-match presser, Okere thanked the Ruaraka-based club’s management for trusting in the technical bench’s ability.
Bidco United vs Tusker post-match comments
“We started off badly and there was intense pressure, but I want to extend gratitude to our management for believing that we are capable of turning things around, and we are doing so.
To my players, let’s continue with the same spirit and convert all chances because sometimes they come to haunt you when you miss.”
On his part, Bidco’s coach, Anthony Akhulia, rued missed chances as part of the reason they failed to collect even a single point:
“We were not clinical in front of goal and that has cost us. This is the second consecutive match we have failed to score, and it’s now a concern for us. We have to go back, sit down, and ask ourselves where we have wronged and try to overcome it,” he noted.
Tusker’s win extends their record against the Thika-based Bidco to nine matches against two. This also marked the first loss of the season at home for the Akhulia-coached team.
