- He has been included in the 24-man squad to play two international friendly matches in Turkey.
- Kenya will face Equatorial Guinea on November 14 before taking on Senegal on November 18.
Gor Mahia’s Bryton Onyona has earned a maiden call-up to the men’s senior football team, Harambee Stars, following the latest adjustments by head coach Benni McCarthy.
The lanky left back, who has caught the eye since being entrusted with game time by new head coach Charles Akonnor in the 25/26 SportPesa League campaign, has attracted raving reviews in the football circle with his performances acknowledged by the call up.
His solid defensive contributions have been instrumental in the team’s clean sheets, while his blistering pace on the offensive flank has now earned him a national team debut under McCarthy, replacing Vincent Harper.

He has been included in the 24-man squad set to play two international friendly matches in Antalya, Turkey, during the November FIFA window from the 10 to the 18.
The fixtures have been revised, with the team now scheduled to face Equatorial Guinea and Senegal, instead of the initially planned matches against Madagascar and Comoros.
Harambee Stars will open their campaign against Equatorial Guinea on November 14 at 18:00 at the Emir Complex, before taking on Senegal on November 18 at the same time at the Mardan Stadium.

As part of these changes, the coach has made two further alterations.
Highly rated Nairobi United defender Kevin Otiende has also received his first national call-up, replacing his injured club teammate, Manzur Suleiman Okwaro.
Gor Mahia players continue to feature prominently in the national team, with another inclusion being winger Sharif Musa, who returns to the squad to replace the ruled-out Adam Wilson.
Like Onyona, Musa has been a fundamental part of Gor Mahia’s campaign this season, contributing both assists and a goal.
The team is set to report for a local camp on Sunday, November 9, 2025, and will depart on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
These friendly matches will provide the Stars with a vital opportunity to test their strength against high-ranking opponents, fine-tune tactical approaches, and build cohesion ahead of upcoming competitive engagements.
