Nairobi United will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Bandari FC in a SportPesa League clash at the Dandora Stadium this afternoon from 3 PM.

The debutants, coached by Nicholas Muyoti, will be eager to bounce back following a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Sofapaka over the weekend.

In that match, Sofapaka’s Joseph Kuloba, Bramwel Simiyu, and Japheth Mzungu all found the back of the net, handing Nairobi United their second loss of the season.

Nairobi United vs Bandari FC preview

Despite the setback, Nairobi United have shown flashes of quality in their maiden top-flight campaign. They began the season brightly, winning two of their opening three matches before the loss to Sofapaka.

Currently, they sit 14th on the table with two wins and two defeats, but they still have three games in hand, a factor that could help them climb up the standings if they collect maximum points.

Their opponents, Bandari FC, are also struggling to find form early in the season. Under new head coach Mohammed Borji, the Dockers are still searching for their first win under him.

Since taking over from Ken Odhiambo, Borji’s side has managed only back-to-back draws, including a goalless stalemate against Mara Sugar in Awendo.

The coach will be keen to see his side finally break the winless run and get his first victory in charge when they meet Nairobi United for the first time in the SportPesa League.

Bandari have scored just three goals so far this season while conceding two and keeping two clean sheets.

Their defense has remained disciplined, but their attacking department has struggled to convert chances.

On the other hand, Nairobi United’s defense has been less solid, conceding four goals in three matches while scoring only three.

Interestingly, Nairobi United have only lost two of their last 19 matches in all competitions a run that stretches back to their time in the National Super League last season. That record shows their resilience, especially when playing at home.

As the two sides face off, Bandari will be desperate to end their away drought, having gone six consecutive away matches without scoring.

Nairobi United, meanwhile, will be determined to make Dandora Stadium a fortress once again and prove that their early-season promise was no fluke.

This clash promises to be a tightly contested battle full of intensity and determination from both sides.
