The Kenya Morans have named their 12-man travelling squad that will take part in the Zambezi 7s set to take place in Harare, Zimbabwe from 8-9 November 2025.

Morans, who are the second-string Kenya 7s side, have named John Okoth as the captain in a squad that features three regulars from the main national team Shujaa. The three include Denis Abukuse, Chrisant Ojwang and Floyd Wabwire.

The trip to Zimbabwe will also offer a chance for some exciting youngsters to represent the country once again having just made their national team debut in the 2025 Safari 7s.

They include Clinton Amukwachi, Rayvon Ambale, David Nyangige and Daniel Kipchirchir.

Speaking ahead of their departure on Thursday, Kenya 7s head coach Kevin Wambua noted the team’s enthusiasm and determination, saying the tournament presents a crucial opportunity for the players to gain valuable experience and showcase their abilities on a competitive platform.

“We have assembled a quality squad with a blend of skill, energy and hunger to compete. This is an important step for these players as we continue strengthening the pipeline for the national sevens program.

We believe they are ready to represent the country with pride and deliver excellent performances,” Wambua was quoted by the Kenya Rugby Union.

The Morans head into the tournament after finishing third in the 12-team Safari 7s 2025.

In Zimbabwe, Morans are in pool B alongside Pitbulls and Old Hararians.
