Harambee Stars midfielder William Lenkupae has committed his future to Finnish top-tier side Vaasan Palloseura (VPS) after the club confirmed it had exercised an option to extend his contract until 2026.
Lenkupae, who joined the club midway through the season following successful trials from Australian side Central Coast Mariners, has quickly established himself as a vital member of the team.

The club announced the news through its official communication channels, expressing confidence in the Kenyan midfielder’s abilities.
“VPS has exercised Will Wilson’s option – the Australian-born Kenyan midfielder will continue at Raida until the 2026 season!” the club stated.
Speaking after the announcement, VPS sports director Tommi Pikkarainen lauded Lenkupae’s impact and potential, noting that the midfielder’s performances both at club and international level have been encouraging.
“In international matches for Kenya, he showed that he has the potential and skill level to play in much tougher games than the Veikkausliiga.
He has not managed to show everything we see in him at Raida this season – but we strongly believe that his good qualities can be utilized in our style of football next season,” Pikkarainen said.

Since arriving in Finland, Wilson has featured consistently for VPS, earning two Man of the Match awards and endearing himself to the fans with his tireless work rate and technical skill.
His versatility that has seen him start as central midfielder, left winger and an attacking midfielder who has the ability to dictate tempo and transition play has made him one of the team’s standout midfielders.
On the international front, the 23-year-old has become a regular under Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy. He played a role in Kenya’s recent fixtures and is expected to be part of the squad that will face Madagascar and Comoros in Antalya, Turkey, during the November FIFA international break.
Lenkupae’s contract extension marks a significant milestone in his European journey, and with VPS keen to build on their strong season, the midfielder will be looking to cement his place as one of the club’s most influential players heading into the new season 2026/27.
