The decisive moment came in the 73rd minute when substitute Mark Sykes made an instant impact after coming on.
A well-worked move saw Anis Mehmeti deliver a dangerous cross that was flicked on by Emil Riis, allowing Sykes to guide a composed finish into the bottom corner, giving the Robins a crucial lead.
Despite Norwich pushing for an equalizer, Bristol’s defense, led by Vyner and goalkeeper Radek Vítek, stood firm.
Vítek pulled off several key saves, including an outstanding stop to deny Emi Marcondes from close range and another late effort from Josh Sargent, ensuring Bristol held on to all three points.
The result marked Bristol City’s first win in four matches and extended their unbeaten away league run to five games, propelling them into sixth place on the Championship standings.
Head coach Gerhard Struber made just one change to his starting lineup from the previous match, with Ross McCrorie starting ahead of Sykes, who later came on to net the winner.
The early stages of the game saw Bristol City dominate possession and create several openings, with Scott Twine, Neto Borges, and Matěj Jurásek all coming close.
Norwich responded through Sargent and Oscar Schwartau, but their efforts were thwarted by Vyner’s well-organized backline.
Vyner himself nearly grabbed a goal after the hour mark, forcing Vladan Kovačević into a fingertip save with a powerful first-time volley from close range.

His all-round performance highlighted his growing influence in the Championship and further strengthened his reputation as a player capable of breaking into the Harambee Stars setup.
The match was played in front of 26,249 fans, including 1,501 traveling Bristol supporters,
Next up, Bristol City will host Southampton at Ashton Gate on Tuesday, October 21st, with over 23,000 tickets already sold.
Vyner will once again be expected to marshal the defense as the Robins look to build on their momentum and continue their push for a playoff spot.
