  • Athlos NYC 2025, an all-women’s track and field league, will host its second edition on October 9 and 10.
  • Kenya star Faith Kipyegon is among the elite athletes headlining the event over the weekend.
  • The world record holder is set to return to the track on Saturday evening for the highly anticipated Women’s Mile, starting at 8:30 PM EST (3:30 AM EAT).

Multiple Olympic and five-time world champion Faith Kipyegon will headline the all-women’s track and field showcase, Athlos NYC 2025, scheduled for Thursday, October 9 to Friday, October 10, at Icahn Stadium in New York City.

Fresh off her stunning victory in the 1500m final at the Tokyo Championship 25 last month, where she also secured silver in the 5000m, the world record holder is set to return to the track on Saturday morning for the highly anticipated Women’s Mile, kicking off at 8:30 PM EST (3:30 AM EAT).

Beyond her recent achievements, Kipyegon has crafted a phenomenal season having shattered the 1500m world record earlier this year at the Prefontaine Classic.

Following that, she traveled to Paris in an attempt to become the first woman ever to break the four-minute mile. While she didn’t achieve that milestone, she did set a new world best, rewriting history once again.

The dominant record holder has been virtually unbeatable this season, making her chances of victory at Icahn Stadium exceptionally high.

Having won the 1500-meter race at ATHLOS last year, she will be looking to add another Tiffany Crown to her extensive list of accolades.

Entering this track as the defending champion and favorite, she will also face a significant challenge.

Kipyegon will run alongside Gudaf Tsegay, the indoor world record holder for the 1500 meters.

Tsegay, a three-time world champion and Olympic bronze medalist, is no stranger to Kipyegon’s challenge and has proven she will fight to the finish, no matter the pace. This will be Tsegay’s second appearance at ATHLOS.

Also in the mix is American record holder Nikki Hiltz, who is leading the U.S. talent in the shorter distance events.

Apart from the mile, a total of 36 athletes (five for each event) will compete across the 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m hurdles, and 800m.
