FKF President Hussein Mohammed Appointed to Influential FIFA Committee

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has been appointed to one of FIFA’s key committees, marking a significant milestone for Kenyan football leadership on the global stage.

Hussein will serve as a member of the FIFA Institutional Relations Committee, a powerful arm of world football’s governing body responsible for building and maintaining relationships with major global institutions. The committee works closely with governmental and non-governmental bodies.

His appointment comes just months after Kenya hosted the most successful CHAN tournament alongside Uganda and Tanzania.

The appointment highlights Kenya’s growing presence in global football scene and highlighting FIFA’s trust in the FKF boss to contribute to its worldwide partnerships and diplomatic initiatives.

Also making the list of Kenyan representatives is Abdullahi Yussuf Ibrahim, a member of the FKF National Executive Committee (NEC), who has been named to the FIFA Stadium and Security Committee. The committee is charged with overseeing safety standards at football venues and ensuring global competitions are played under secure conditions.

In addition, Janet Katisya has retained her position on the FIFA Ethics Committee, which plays a central role in maintaining transparency and integrity within FIFA’s governance framework.

The appointments are a major boost for the country’s football leadership, coming at a time when FKF continues to strengthen its standing both locally and internationally. For Hussein, who has emphasized reforms and accountability since taking charge, the recognition by FIFA adds another feather to his cap.
