- Tusker FC came from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw against Shabana in a SportPesa League Matchweek 4 clash.
- The match was staged at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, on Sunday, October 5.
- Meanwhile, Kariobangi Sharks, Kenya Police, and Mara Sugar all registered their first wins of the season on Sunday.
Tusker FC narrowly avoided another disappointing defeat in the Sportpesa League 25/26, as Ian Simiyu came off the bench to strike a dramatic 1-1 equalizer against Shabana FC in Sunday’s clash staged at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
A dominant Shabana side took the lead just before halftime through rising star Austine Odongo, who found the net in the 19th minute. It seemed all but certain that Charles Okere’s squad was headed for a second loss.

However, the hosts sprang to life after the break. Simiyu, introduced in the 74th minute for Teddy Onyango, managed to level the score with just ten minutes remaining, capitalizing on a defensive error in Peter Okidi’s penalty area.
The result was not what the Brewers needed, as they are yet to register a single win in their four matches – managing only two draws and a pair of losses.

The outcome left a pressure-laden Okere kneeling in tears as he departed, repeating his trademark phrase “God ni msoo,” with his team still rooted in 16th place.
For Shabana, in a match that saw them suffer several injuries, the draw was a decent result, keeping them at the summit of the table with seven points from three matches.
They now head into the October FIFA international break needing to rectify their second-half collapse.
