Gor Mahia midfielder Alpha Onyango has expressed confidence ahead of their SportPesa League 2025/26 away fixture against KCB FC, set for tomorrow, October 5, at the Dandora Stadium from 3:00 PM.
The central midfielder believes the record Kenyan champions have what it takes to secure another win.
“So far, so good. We have had very good preparations for the upcoming match and I believe we will give our best so that we can win,” Onyango said after the team’s final training session.

Alpha Onyango admits it will not be an easy task to face KCB
However, the Harambee Stars player admitted that facing KCB will not be an easy task, acknowledging the solid start the bankers have had this season.
“It will not be an easy match because we are facing a good opponent who have already won two matches in their three games.
But again, we are prepared, and since we already won our first match, I believe that gave us confidence heading into this one. I have trust in my teammates, and I believe we can emerge victorious,” he added.

Gor Mahia midfielder reveals the key aspect they have been working on during training sessions
Gor, who registered a convincing 0-2 win over Sofapaka in their last outing after falling short against Bidco United in the league opener, have been working on improving their attacking efficiency following the departure of key striker Benson Omala to Cambodian side Visakha FC.
The club also failed to finalize a deal with Ugandan forward Mohammed Shaban, who reportedly received part of his sign-on fee around Ksh 1.3 million before terminating his contract without playing a single match for the club.
“We know scoring has not been easy for us, but we have worked on it in training. The coach has been pushing us to be sharper in front of goal, and come Sunday, I know we will be okay,” Onyango stated.
K’Ogalo will be banking on new signings Felix Oluoch and Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Adukwam, who scored a brace against Sofapaka, to deliver the goals against KCB.
How the October international break could affect Gor Mahia

With the FIFA international break approaching, Gor Mahia are set to release several players for national duty.
Goalkeeper Byrne Omondi, defender Sylvester Owino, and midfielders Alpha Onyango, Austin Odhiambo, and Ben Stanley Omondi have all been included in the Harambee Stars squad for Kenya’s final World Cup Qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast.

The former Green Commandos midfielder acknowledged that the break could disrupt the team’s rhythm but remains optimistic they will maintain their form.
“Definitely, it can affect our momentum because when you come from a win and then go into another match, you want to keep the rhythm. But the international break is unavoidable, and hopefully, we will return even stronger,” Onyango concluded.
With confidence high in the camp, Gor Mahia will be aiming to get their second win of the season and continue their march toward another SportPesa League title.
