Gor Mahia’s patron, Hon. Raila Odinga, has committed a monumental gift of KSh.10 million to support the club’s administrative functions for the 2025/26 season.
On Friday, October 3, Gor Mahia’s management team, led by Chairman Ambrose Rachier and his deputy Sally Bolo, visited the former Prime Minister and Mama Ida Odinga at their Karen home.

The meeting was a positive one as the new SportPesa League season begins.

Following the meeting, the patron wished the club a successful season after a productive briefing.

Raila Odinga’s supportive contribution is part of the incentives for Gor Mahia that will aid the club in planning effectively for the new season.
The record kenyan champions are determined to reclaim the top-flight title, which was snatched from them by Kenya Police FC last season, ultimately leaving them without a trophy.

This generous gesture comes just a day after the team received a morale-boosting cash token of KSh. 300,000 from the Cabinet Secretary for Youth, Creative Economy, and Sports, Hon. Salim Mvurya.
“A surprise visit from Sports CS Salim Mvurya during today’s training session boosted the team’s spirit ahead of the weekend’s league match; the CS gave players a token of KSh. 300,000,” the club wrote on their social media after Mvurya visited their training session at Nyayo Stadium that evening.

On the pitch, Gor Mahia’s 2025/26 campaign began on a rough note, suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Bidco United.
However, the team bounced back impressively with a 2-0 victory over Sofapaka. Their third fixture of the season is scheduled for Sunday, October 5, against KCB at Dandora Stadium, where they’ll be looking to build momentum with back-to-back wins.
