Ruben Amorim has provided an update from the Manchester United camp ahead of Sunday’s derby, confirming that Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount, and Diogo Dalot are all unavailable.
Cunha and Mount were injured during the last outing, the 3-2 home win over Burnley at Old Trafford while Dalot complained of muscle pain and withdrew from Portugal’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers.
Meanwhile, with first-choice goalkeeper André Onana already loaned to Trabzonspor, Amorim has confirmed that Altay Bayındır will remain in goal for the derby, despite praising the potential of new signing Senne Lammers.
On the other hand, Pep Guardiola says he is likely to be without three players for Sunday’s clash.
The City boss confirmed that Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki are definitely out, as is John Stones, who withdrew from England’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
However, Guardiola suggested during his press conference that Phil Foden, Abdukodir Khusanov, Rico Lewis, Nico O’Reilly, Savinho, Mateo Kovacic, and Josko Gvardiol should all be okay despite some question marks over their involvement.
