Harambee Stars captain Abud Omar has issued an apology to Kenyan football fans following the team’s agonizing exit from the CHAN 2024 tournament. He also made a promise on behalf of his teammates that they will do their best in the upcoming tournaments to make the country proud.

Abud Omar’s apology to Harambee Stars fans
As stated by the experienced player, the 3-4 loss to Madagascar in the quarter-final match played on Saturday at Kasarani Stadium was a painful one to take.
He also took the chance to appreciate the love and support that the Harambee Stars received since the start of the championship.
“Dear Kenyans, yesterday’s loss weighs heavily on us. We know we have let Kenyans down and on behalf of the team, I sincerely apologize.
To all our fans, thank you for your massive support and unity – you have been our greatest strength. Though we fell short today, we promise to rise again and fight harder for our country and for you,” stated Omar.

Madagascar, who have been on the rise in the past few years, came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at the end of the extra time before triumphing on penalties.
Alphonce Omija and Michael Kibwage were unlucky in the epic clash. They failed to convert their spot kicks, resulting in Kenya being bundled out of the historic tournament.
