Defending SportPesa National Sevens Circuit champions Kenya Harlequins secured their maiden main cup semifinal berth in the 2025 edition after a hard-fought 17-12 victory over Impala RFC in the Christie 7s quarterfinals on Sunday morning at RFUEA Grounds.
As a result, Quins, who are also the hosts of this third leg of the circuit, now face a daunting challenge against current overall leaders KCB, who cruised past Daystar Falcons with a dominant 27-0 win in another quarterfinal clash.
Quins will be aiming to capture their first title of the season in what promises to be an electrifying semifinal.
Meanwhile, Strathmore Leos, after narrowly surviving elimination in the group stage, stormed into their third consecutive semifinal of the circuit by thrashing university rivals Catholic Monks 29-7.
The Leos will now b attle Menengai Oilers, who overpowered Nondies 26-10, as they pursue their second crown of the season following their triumph at Prinsloo 7s.
The Oilers, on the other hand, will be eager to lift their first title of the circuit.
This year’s Christie 7s is guaranteed to crown a new champion after defending holders Kabras Sugar were shockingly eliminated in the group stage.
