  • Harambee Stars’ tickets for CHAN 2024 matches against Angola and Morocco are officially sold out.
  • Kenya will face Angola tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:00 PM EAT at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
  • The team will then take on Morocco on Sunday, August 10, at 3:00 PM at the same venue.

Tickets for Harambee Stars’ next two fixtures in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) where they will face Angola and Morocco respectively, have been completely sold out according to the official chan.mookh.com website.

As of Tuesday afternoon, all tickets for the Kenya vs Angola match, scheduled for Thursday, August 7 at 7:00 PM EAT at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, were no longer available.

This comes as no surprise, considering the opening clash between Kenya and DR Congo experienced a similar rush, with tickets selling out just three days after becoming available.

However, despite the sold-out status, the 48,063-capacity refurbished Kasarani Stadium was not filled to the brim.

Many expected a packed stadium, but numerous empty seats raised concerns, with some speculating that a section of fans may have hoarded tickets, depriving genuine football enthusiasts of the chance to attend the match.

Harambee Stars marked their CHAN debut with a narrow yet crucial 1-0 victory, courtesy of a clinical strike by Austin Odhiambo.

Tomorrow (Thursday), under the Kasarani floodlights, Kenya will face Angola, who are still seeking their first win after falling 2-0 to Morocco in their opening match.

After that, Kenya will shift focus to their highly anticipated clash with two-time CHAN champions Morocco on Sunday, August 10, at the same venue. Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM, and a thrilling showdown is expected.

LOC Chairman Musonye denies ticket hoarding allegations

Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman for CHAN Nicholas Musonye has dismissed allegations that some Kenyans hoarded tickets.

Speaking to Nation Morning FIX, Musonye asserted that tickets for the DR Congo match were fully sold, and he believes the stadium was approximately 90% full over the weekend.

The issue of ticket hoarding doesn’t exist. This is an open market regulated by CAF, and since it’s a CAF competition, tickets were sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, all 48,000 tickets were sold and we could not go beyond that,” Musonye explained.

We cannot sell 100% of the stadium’s capacity due to safety regulations and spacing considerations. For the DR Congo match, we sold around 45,000 to 46,000 tickets. To me, the stadium was about 90% full,” he added.
