Burnley FC secured the signing of experienced defender Kyle Walker from Manchester City on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Walker, who helped Manchester City to win numerous trophies including the coveted Premier League title, penned a two-year deal.
Walker’s former employer wished him the best of luck as he started his journey with the club which will play in the Premier League next season.

With the transfer documents already sealed and signed, most people could be wondering why the gifted player decided to play for Burnley FC.

The answer to that question, it turns out, involves more than just playing professional football.
Walker has divulged the surprising, yet influential, role that Burnley FC head coach Scott Parker played in persuading him to join the Clarets.
“He has been massive. I feel the type of football that he has played, not just at Burnley but at Fulham as well, you know, I was a big admirer of him. First and foremost as a person. I’ve had the pleasure of playing and sharing the dressing room with him, not just at Tottenham but at England as well.
And when someone like that calls your phone and asks you to come and play for his football team, I must have done something right, you know in the dressing room, on the pitch. So, you know, I am just thankful that he could give me the opportunity. And, everyone associated with the club could also,” he explained.
Walker and Parker played together at Tottenham Hotspur between 2011 and 2013.
The duo also played for the England national football team popularly known as the Three Lions in their careers.
