- Hellen Obiri won the women’s title at the AJC Peachtree Road Race 2025 in a time of 31:29.
- Obiri was the only Kenyan woman who finished inside the podium positions at the AJC Peachtree 2025 road race.
- Besides the brilliant display from Obiri, Kenyans led by Patrick Kiprop also starred in the men’s category.
The beautiful streets of Atlanta City trembled on Friday, July 4, 2025 under the feet of Kenyan runners led by Hellen Obiri as the AJC Peachtree road race went down.
Obiri, who is a multiple Boston Marathon champion, won the women’s title in an impressive time of 31:29.
Obiri ran a tactical race before outpacing Ethiopia’s Senayet Getachew at the closing stages of the 10km road race.

Getachew clocked 31:30 to beat her Ethiopian compatriot Gela Hambese Degefa, who crossed the finishing line at 31:38.
The other Kenyan women who took part in the race in Gladys Chepkurui, Cintia Chepngeno and Everlyn Kemboi, settled for the fourth, sixth and eighth positions in that order.
Chepkurui and Chepngeno finished the race at 31:48 and 32:20 respectively with Kemboi managing a time of 32:26.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia’s track legend Tirunesh Dibaba came a distant 10th in an encouraging time of 32:46.
Obiri’s compatriots dominate the men’s race at AJC Peachtree Road Race 2025 as Kiprop dazzles
The story was similar in the men’s category where Kenya’s Patrick Kiprop showed the other competitors dust.

Kiprop, who broke away from the leading pack with a few kilometres remaining to the end of the race, clinched the coveted AJC Peachtree road race title in a time of 27:35.
He was followed by his fellow countrymen Vincent Langat and Patrick Mosin. Langat clocked 27:39 while Mosin registered a time of 27:39 to ensure Kenya swept the podium clean.
The fourth, fifth and sixth positions also went to Kenyans Hillary Kipkoech, Isaia Lasoi, and Kiprono Sitonik.
Kipkoech crossed the finishing line in 27:39 to beat Lasoi and Sitonik, who stopped their stopwatches at 27:43 and 28:08 in that order.
Obiri and Kiprop are expected to be awarded handsomely by the AJC Peachtree road race 2025 organizers for their impeccable performances.
