- Harambee Stars will play Chad in another friendly tie on Tuesday, June 10 in the same country.
Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy will have to wait a little bit longer to register the first win since his appointment after Kenya played to a barren draw with Chad on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Harambee Stars started the game well, with some of the local players like Boniface Muchiri producing an impressive display.
However, they had to wait until the half our mark to create their best goal scoring opportunity.
William Lenkupae misses a golden chance to break the deadlock for Harambee Stars
The chance fell to William Lenkupae, who received a delicious pass from Muchiri, before unleashing a shot which went wide.
After the miss, Harambee Stars continued with their impressive play, dominating the midfield and creating several other goal scoring chances that they also failed to utilize.

In an effort to give as many of his players game time, McCarthy made a substitution at the start of the second half.
He introduced Gor Mahia FC magician Austine Odhiambo and brought off Brian Musa.
The decision slightly improved the level of play from his army but they could not penetrate the disciplined Chad backline.
As the Harambee Stars were busy looking for the opener, their opponents launched a swift counter attack that nearly resulted into a goal.
Shortly after Chad missed their opportunity, Lenkupae found himself face to face with Chad’s shot stopper again in the 61st minute.
He then unleashed a low shot which slip from the goalkeepers’ hands, who managed to react quickly and prevented it from sliding into the empty net.
Although Harambee Stars head coach made more changes, introducing the likes of David Sakwa, James Kinyanjui, and Emmanuel Osoro, the substitutions did not bore any fruit, leading to a goalless draw in the end.
Lastly, Harambee Stars will be seeking to rectify their mistakes in the second friendly match between the two nations that is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 10 at the same venue.
