Morocco, drawn in Group B alongside Kenya, became the first team to clinch qualification after narrowly overcoming Sierra Leone 1-0 in extra time, courtesy of a late own goal in the quarterfinals played on Monday, April 12.
Under the guidance of head coach Mohamed Ouahbi, the North Africans have been impressive throughout the competition. They remained unbeaten in the group stage, registering two victories and one draw.
Their opening group fixture was a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Kenya U20.
They then played out a goalless stalemate against reigning champions Nigeria, before defeating Tunisia 3-1 to top the group with seven points.
Morocco will now face tournament hosts Egypt in the semi-finals.
The Pharaohs secured their spot after a nail-biting penalty shootout victory over Ghana, following a 2-2 draw in regulation time, eventually triumphing 5-4.
