  • Kabras Sugar vs Menengai Oilers – Enterprise Cup 2025 final kicks off at 3:00 PM EAT on Saturday, April 26 at the ASK Showground, Nakuru
  • Kabras will be aiming for their fifth Enterprise Cup title, while the Oilers are in pursuit of their first-ever championship in the tournament.
  • Despite playing away, Kabras Head Coach Carlos Katywa remains confident in his team’s chances.

Kabras Sugar RFC and Menengai Oilers will face off for the third time in a final this season, this time battling for the Enterprise Cup title at the Nakuru’s ASK Showgrounds on Saturday, April 26 (3.00PM EAT).

Remarkably, it has been six decades since the Enterprise Cup was last graced at this venue on August 8, 1964 when it was staged at the Nakuru Athletics Club.

For the Oilers, this will be a monumental occasion as they make their maiden appearance in the Enterprise Cup final.

They punched their ticket to the grand finale with a commanding 41-10 triumph over Nondies RFC in the semifinals held at the Nakuru Showgrounds in March.

On the other hand, Kabras earned their spot after a gritty 25-21 victory over KCB Rugby at the Kakamega Showgrounds.

These two sides have been locked in an intense rivalry throughout the season.

Kabras edged the Oilers in their first meeting during the Kenya Cup regular season and narrowly defeated them again in the Kenya Cup final with a nail-biting 27-26 win.

However, the tables turned at the Great Rift 10s tournament, where the Oilers silenced the Millers with a decisive 15-0 win, securing their first title in the tournament since 2019.

This upcoming final will mark their first-ever duel in the Enterprise Cup finale.

Kabras will be aiming to defend their crown and claim a fifth title, while Gibson Weru’s determined squad seeks to etch their name in history by becoming only the 19th team to lift East Africa’s most coveted rugby prize—on home soil, no less.

Katywa prepares for ‘enemy territory’ as Weru plans tactical fix in Enterprise Cup 2025 final

Despite playing away, Kabras Head Coach Carlos Katywa remains optimistic about his side’s chances. He believes his squad is ready for the physical and mental battle that lies ahead.

They will be hurting after losing by a point in the Kenya Cup final, so we must be ready for a big physical battle. We will be in the enemy’s territory and I am confident we can emerge victorious,” said Carlos, speaking to The Star.

Meanwhile, Menengai Oilers Head Coach Gibson Weru expressed full confidence in his squad’s fitness and preparation, stressing the importance of clinical execution this time around.

We played with a lot of emotion in the final. There was a lack of clarity in some facets of play, and we have reviewed the final with the team. This time around, we have to be efficient and clinical in our execution,“ Weru stated.

There are areas where we believe Kabras are vulnerable and we can exploit them and come away with points. All in all, it points to a competitive final between two good teams.”

This highly anticipated match promises to be a historic battle, with Kabras chasing a fifth title and the Oilers hungry to avenge past defeats and seize their first-ever Enterprise Cup triumph, riding on their impressive form this season.
