Murang’a SEAL has appointed former Harambee Stars assistant coach Yusuf Chippo as their new head coach following the resignation of John Njogu.
Njogu stepped down on Monday following a 0-3 defeat to Shabana which came after a series of poor performances that have left the club battling relegation playoff zone.
SEAL currently sits in 16th place on the table with 24 points, just one point above bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars.
In a statement released by the club, Chippo is expected to be assisted by Don Otieno.
Chippo replaces John Njogu after Seals went down 3-0 to Shabana FC at the Gusii Stadium last weekend, and will be deputized by Don Otieno as his assistant coach. the statement released on Tuesday read.

With nine matches remaining in the 2024/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League, Chippo expressed his commitment during his introduction on Tuesday.
He emphasized his determination to ensure SEAL retains its top-flight status for the third consecutive season.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity I have been given and I do realize how it’s a huge task. I am ready and eager to work with the entire staff and the players to ensure that we will retain our top-flight status at the end of the season,” the former Ulinzi Stars boss shared with the club’s media on Tuesday afternoon.
Chippo promise to revive Murang’a Seal
Having been part of the national men’s team from 2008 to 2011, Chippo is confident that the team can turn their fortunes around.
He praised SEAL as a strong outfit, asserting that with his experience, they will be able to improve during the remaining matches.
“No duty is impossible, and everything we set our sights on, we can achieve. We just need to put in the work. Seals is a good outfit and I am confident we can turn things around and give the fans what they are all hoping for,” Chippo concluded.

Chippo’s first assignment
With extensive experience in the Kenya Premier League, having led Ulinzi Stars to three consecutive KPL titles between 2003 and 2005, Chippo’s first challenge in revitalizing SEAL will come this weekend.
On Sunday, Murang’a SEAL will host Bidco United at the Sportpesa Arena.
