The two teams faced off over the weekend in the FA League Cup final, where City lost 2-1.

Nick Cushing, who took over as interim coach after the sacking of Gareth Taylor just five days ahead of the weekend’s final, will be determined to help the Sky Blue ladies overturn their fortunes against Chelsea.

City has yet to secure a victory in their two encounters with Chelsea so far this season.

Despite a challenging domestic campaign, City managed to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after finishing second in their group.

Placed in Group D alongside Barcelona, Hammarby, and St. Pölten, City won five matches and lost only one to Barcelona in the final group match, ensuring their progression.

On the other hand, Chelsea’s quest for a historic quadruple remains alive.

Having already secured the League Cup and Women’s Super Cup, Chelsea leads the Women’s Super League table with 44 points, eight points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

They are also in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The only title that eludes Sonia Bompastor side this season is the Women’s Champions League, and they are determined to seize it, further asserting their dominance over City.

Chelsea sailed through the quarter-finals, finishing unbeaten in Group B alongside Real Madrid, Twente, and Celtic.
