Kenya Police FC head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has hinted that when the Kenya football January transfer window opens, he will bolster his squad with players who can help the club reach the continental stage next season.
Etienne has been performing well with Police since taking over and on Sunday, he secured his seventh win of the season, extending his unbeaten run to eight consecutive matches having lost only one of the nine games he has overseen.
After a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Murang’a SEAL on Sunday at the SportPesa Arena, the Burundian coach stated that the win has boosted the team’s confidence and brought the title race within reach.
“I am relieved we got another win. This is a huge boost to our confidence and clinching the title is now becoming a reality for us. That is what we are all looking forward to at the end of the season,” he The Star.

The lone goal, scored by Clinton Kinanga propelled the law enforcers to second place in the standings, with 30 points, one game behind league leaders Tusker who are at the top with 33 points having played an extra game.
Etienne further noted that they are looking forward to more matches and more wins as the league becomes more competitive.
“Of course, we still have many matches to play, and what’s important now is for us to stay calm as the season enters a more competitive phase,” he added.

Regarding strengthening his squad, the former Azam FC head coach stated that when the transfer window opens, he will bring in players who can compete and help the club progress in continental tournaments such as the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Champions League.
“We have our eyes focused on continental football. The next recruitment will be influenced by that factor. We need players who can steer us to new heights on the international stage if we secure a ticket to represent the nation,” he said.
Police FC participated in the CAF Confederation Cup this season but were eliminated in the second preliminary stage by Egyptian giants Zamalek SC after qualifying for the first time ever through winning the 2023/24 FKF Cup.
