Kenya Cup

Round 4 in the 24/25 Kenya Cup presented thrilling fixtures on Saturday January 11, as teams clashed at various venues across the country.

At the RFUEA Grounds on Ngong Road, a doubleheader unfolded and KCB Rugby continued from where they left off last season as they overpowered Mwamba RFC 77-22.

Jacob Ojee contributed 15 points while Davis Chenge scored a brace. Peter Waitere, Emmanuel Silungi, Austin Sikutwa, Rocky Aguko and Dennis Waithaka also got their names on the scoresheet with Elvis Namusasi converting several of the tries.

Mwamba RFC’s troubles deepened as they remained winless after four matches.

In the second fixture at the same venue, Kenya Harlequins triumphed over their neighbors Impala RFC with a commanding 48-12 victory.

This win marked their fourth consecutive victory of the season, keeping them unbeaten. Meanwhile, Impala RFC, under coach Kisia, has only managed one win and now finds themselves in a precarious position as the season progresses.

Elsewhere, at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu, Kisumu RFC celebrated their first win of the season by dismantling South Coast Pirates 38-9 to claim the Obange Cup.

The cup commemorates the 10th anniversary of the passing of former chairman Fidel Odinga. Despite Pirates’ three successfully converted penalties by Kelly Akengo, Kisumu’s six tries along with their conversions sealed a dominant victory against the Kenya Cup debutants.
