Following deliberation by the National Executive Council (NEC) on December 21st 2024, the committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of establishing robust governance structures and ensuring seamless transition for the federation,” read part of the statement.

The committee will be chaired by the federation’s vice president McDonald Mariga with the assistance of women representative Kerubo Momanyi.

On the other hand, Bernard Lagat, who serves as the NEC member for Upper Rift FKF branch, has been tasked with the secretarial duties.

Some of the mandates of this committee are auditing internal policies and facilitating operational continuity.

Under the latter, the seven members are expected to “ensure the uninterrupted functioning of FKF’s essential systems and processes throughout the transition period,” the statement added.

Besides auditing and the facilitation of operational continuity, the committee will also strengthen organisational capacity and commission a forensic audit.

Meanwhile, the FKF President has vowed to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure there is openness in the running of the affairs of the federation.

“I’m proud to see the critical governance structures of FKF taking shape. This is a key step towards rebuilding trust in our football.

I remain committed to ensuring transparency and accountability are the foundation of everything we do,” he stated.
