- The SportPesa Midweek Jackpot winners were unveiled on Sunday 5 January.
Leading online gaming firm SportPesa has kicked off 2025 with a bang as two lucky winners split the Midweek Jackpot of KSh 23,461,828 on 1 January 2025.
The winners, Japhet Muirungi, a transport and construction businessman from Meru and Tannubody Subbareddy, a wholesale businessman from India currently based in Bungoma, each walked away with KSh 11,730,914.
Muirungi, a family man with a growing transport and construction business, placed four separate bets on different days and had no idea that one of them would be his ticket to a life-changing win.
“I thought it was a joke when I first got the call,” Japhet shared. “But once I confirmed, I realized my life had just changed overnight!”

With his winnings, Japhet plans to buy a truck for his business, which will help transport building materials and gas and has already placed an order for the vehicle. Japhet also plans to build a house for his family, ensuring a better future for them.
Subbareddy also placed multiple bets that day and his intuition paid off when he scored a win on both of his bets: one of which was a double combination bet, winning 12/13 games and earning a bonus while the other a perfect 13/13 win, securing his share of the Mid-week Jackpot.
Tannubody had a strong feeling he would win and even told his friends about it before the results were announced.
“I was sure I was going to win,” Tannubody revealed. “I told one of my friends, and to my surprise, I won twice on the same bet!”

Tannubody plans to use his share of the winnings to expand his wholesale business and further support his family.
Both winners are not only celebrating their good fortune but also looking forward to even bigger wins. Japhet is determined to keep playing with hopes of hitting the Mega Jackpot which is now valued at over KSh 397 million.
Tannubody shares the same ambition, eager to claim the life-changing Mega Jackpot prize.
“I’ll keep playing, and one day I’ll win the Mega Jackpot,” Japhet said confidently. Tannubody added, “SportPesa is where dreams come true, and I won’t stop until I win even bigger!”
