The time she clocked was more than 15 seconds faster than the previous mark of 14:29 that was set by Ethiopian runner Senbere Teferi in 2021.

“As in the last four editions, the Race of the Noses will have two events: a 5K with international elite athletes (4:20 p.m.) and the traditional 10K (5:15 p.m.) open to everyone and where 12,000 have sold out this year numbers available.
Beatrice Chebet, double gold medalist at the last Olympic Games in Paris and the winner of the last edition of the race, confirmed in the international 5K where she will compete with Medina Eisa and Melkanat Wudu to try to set a new world record,” read part of their statement.
Spanish runner Esther Guerrero Puigdevall, who won a mixed relay gold medal in the 2018 European Cross Country Championships, will also feature in the race.

The typeface, designed in a dot matrix style, evokes both the digital technology of electronic athletics scoreboards and the festive spirit of Christmas lights, combining innovation and versatility and reflecting the strong sporting and cultural design tradition of the city of Barcelona in variable open type format, the beta version including variants with stars, squares or arrows is freely available for personal use and open access here,” the statement ended.
In the men’s category, the battle will be between Burundian-born Spanish athlete Thierry Ndikumwenayo and Adessamat Oukhelfem.
