Gor Mahia FC and AFC Leopards picked up important victories on Sunday to keep their hopes of winning the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title at the end of the season alive.
K’Ogalo walloped Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 in a difficult game that was played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.
The goal came in the 24th minute through Gedeon Bendeka, who pounced on the ball after miscommunication between Kariobangi Sharks defenders before unleashing a shot past their goalkeeper Bernard Jairo.
After the goal, both sides tried their best to find the back of the net but luck was not on their side until the final whistle.

The win helped the defending champions to climb to the third position in the log with 24 points, three behind leaders KCB FC, who have played one more match.
On the other hand, Kariobangi Sharks dropped to position 12, a point behind Mathare United who hammered Shabana FC 1-0 on Saturday.
Ingwe humble Bandari FC
Meanwhile, AFC Leopards returned to winning ways after last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Sofapaka FC.
The side which is managed by Fred Ambani on an interim basis hammered Bandari FC 2-0 in an enticing fixture that was played at the Dandora Stadium in Nairobi County.
All the two goals were scored in the second half by Ronald Bebeto and Victor Omune, who kissed the net in the 72nd and 81st minutes respectively.
The three points helped Ingwe to increase their tally to 22 points and in the process jumped from the eighth to fifth position in the standings, with only the goal difference separating them from the sixth-placed Bandari FC.
Nicholas Omondi helps Murang’a Seal beat FC Talanta
Elsewhere, Murang’a Seal defeated FC Talanta 1-0 thanks to Nicholas Omondi’s 71st minute goal while Ulinzi Stars registered a 2-1 win over Nairobi City Stars.
