KCB head coach Patrick Odhiambo has said he feels his team did not play a good match against FC Talanta despite collecting the three points after a 2-1 win on Saturday at Dandora Stadium.
Talanta had held the league leaders to a 1-1 draw, but Maurice Ojwang’ scored late in extra time to help the bankers extend their lead to 20 points from nine matches, having won six, lost one, and drawn two.
Patrick Odhiambo, who joined KCB in mid-July, said that the match against Talanta was not easy for them and was a bit tough, despite the late goal.

“The match has been tough for us. Even though we scored the winning goal in the last minutes, we didn’t play good football today. We were slow in some areas and made a lot of mistakes that we need to rectify before the next fixture,” Odhiambo told TaTa Sports.
He further stated that the long international break might have affected the players’ match fitness, contributing to their poor performance.
“I think the international break was too long, and it affected the players’ match fitness. The players have been off form, but hopefully by the time we play against Police FC we will be back to our best,” he added.
Odhiambo also emphasized that KCB is still in the race to win the title for the first time since the club was founded.

“We are still in the race, and we are working hard to secure the title,” he said.
He believes that since joining the club, he has had a good run, but the league is highly competitive, and every match needs to be treated as a challenge.
“Since I joined KCB, I’ve had a good run,” he said. “But the league is very competitive. The bottom teams are beating the top teams, so every game requires caution.”
Odhiambo’s next assignment will be against Kenya Police, who have been struggling in recent matches, on Wednesday, the 27th, in a midweek fixture.
