KCB maintained their position at the top of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after hammering Kakamega Homeboyz 4-1 on Saturday evening.
The Patrick Odhiambo-coached side showed incredible character in coming from behind to overcome the visitors at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a County.
Homeboyz opened the scoring in the 7th minute through Moses Shumah and managed to maintain the lead for the rest of the first half.
However, the situation changed in the 56th minute when Francis Kahiro set up James Kinyanjui for KCB’s equalizer.

The Bankers made two substitutions in the 63rd minute to try and look for more goals, with Kahiro and Joshua Nyatini being replaced with Derrick Otanga and Vincent Ondabu.
Five minutes later, Odhiambo’s decision paid off with Maurice Ojwang heading in the second goal after connecting well with Kinyanjui’s corner kick.
The latter registered his third goal involvement of the day in the 78th minute when he set up Farraj Ominde for the third goal.
With six minutes remaining to the end of the regulation time, substitute Ondabu scored the fourth goal to guarantee his side all three points.

However, the win came at a cost since Ominde was red-carded in added time after receiving a second yellow card.
The victory increased KCB’s tally to 13 points and ensured they maintained their unbeaten run (4W 1D).
On the other hand, Kakamega Homeboyz who have only collected two points so far this season dropped to position 16.
In other matches that were played on Saturday, Murang’a Seal played to a barren draw with Bandari FC in Mombasa while Mara Sugar needed a Joseph Okwenda 83rd-minute header to beat Shabana FC 1-0 at Awendo Stadium.
Finally, the game between Sofapaka FC and Nairobi City Stars that was held at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos ended 1-1.
