Home Kit

This home kit design is in K’Ogalo’s traditional green colours and features an aerial map of Kisumu County – Gor Mahia’s spiritual heartland. It also showcases a powerful pattern that symbolizes the waves of Lake Victoria – the cradle of the Luo people in Kenya.
According to Ngowi, the home kit for Gor is a tribute to heritage, culture, and the deep connection between the Luo people and Lake Victoria, their ancestral homeland.
The waves, in this context, are not just water currents but a symbol of the resilience and strength of the Luo people, who have drawn sustenance, culture, and life from the lake for generations.
The waves reflect the enduring connection between the team, its people, and its history, much like the undulating rhythm of the lake has supported their way of life. Just as the waters of Lake Victoria shape the land around it, the legacy of Gor Mahia continues to shape football culture in Kenya.
This jersey isn’t just a uniform for the players—it’s a prideful reminder of origins and community roots. Every time the players step onto the pitch, they are carrying the essence of Kisumu, the lifeblood of their people, and the indomitable spirit that has seen them rise from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest football clubs in Kenya.
The intricate map design represents the sacred geography of Kisumu, with its green, vibrant terrain standing as a metaphor for growth, unity, and hope.
Wearing this kit is like wearing the pride of the Luo people—a statement of their history, their strength, and their future. It’s more than football; it’s about honoring the past while creating the future.
In 2024/25, when Gor Mahia FC dons this kit, they are not only playing to win titles, but also to carry forward the weight of history, culture, and the collective dreams of their fans. They’re playing for Kisumu, for the waves of Lake Victoria, and for all the people who look to them as symbols of triumph.

Away kit

The Gor away kit carries a profound narrative woven into every thread and design detail, reflecting the essence of responsibility, heritage, and cultural pride.
This kit features the initials “GM” which stand for Gor Mahia emblazoned on the shoulders.
This design is not just an aesthetic choice, but a deliberate reminder to the players and coaching staff of the immense responsibility they carry on their shoulders.
The initials “GM” symbolize the legacy of Gor Mahia, a club that is not only one of the most successful in Kenyan football history but also a cultural institution that represents the hopes and dreams of millions of fans.
These initials rest on the players’ shoulders like an invisible weight—the trust, passion, and loyalty of the fans that they carry into every match. It’s a visual metaphor that tells the team, “You are Gor Mahia, and with that name comes great expectation.”
The GM initials on the shoulders serve as a constant reminder that every pass, every tackle, every goal, and every decision on the pitch carries the weight of a club steeped in tradition, history, and pride.
This kit tells the players that they are the custodians of a rich legacy. They are not just playing for themselves but for the fans who fill the stadiums, for the legends who wore the jersey before them, and for the generations yet to come.
At the same time, the wave patterns adorning the kit pay homage to Lake Victoria, the birthplace of the Luo people, reminding the team of their deep connection to their cultural roots.
The colors on this away GM jersey are black (representing the Luo people, who are of African origin), white (symbolizing the waters of Lake Victoria), and green (standing for the natural vegetation of Kisumu County, the ancestral homeland of the Luo people).

This represents the ups and downs the club has gone through to reach where it is today, becoming one of the oldest and most famous clubs in Africa.
Founded in 1968, the club has over 56 years of history and holds 21 domestic league titles in Kenya, a level of success no other club in the country has ever achieved.
