Elizabeth Ochuka has expressed confidence in Junior Starlets posting excellent performance in the upcoming 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
Junior Starlets is set to become the first Kenyan team to play in a World Cup in the event scheduled to take place between October 16 and November 3 in the Dominican Republic.
The team has been placed in Group C alongside England, Korea and North American representatives Mexico.

Speaking ahead of the continental showpiece, team captain Ochaka has promised that the team is ready to fly Kenya’s flag high.
According to her, they will do everything they can to deliver results that will make Kenyans proud.
“Qualifying for the World Cup is a huge achievement, especially being the first Kenyan team to do it in the world of football. We don’t take this chance for granted. Our goal is to go there and compete, not just participate,” she was quoted by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) website.
The Kenya Police Bullets FC player added that the tournament will help most of the girls fulfill their dreams.

“Playing at the World Cup will bring us many opportunities like getting scouted to play for international teams which has always been a dream for many of us,” she explained.
Meanwhile, FKF has delayed the training camp which they had organized for the team in Europe.
According to a communique issued by the Nick Mwendwa-led federation, the camp that was expected to start on September 10 in Spain has been pushed to September 19.
“This adjustment will allow the team additional time to continue fine-tuning their local preparations,” read part of the statement from FKF.
