  • The Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal clash will kick off at 2230EAT on Tuesday
  • Arsenal are third on the log on 43 points.
  • Forest are 16th on 20 points.

Arsenal is set to travel away to Nottingham Forest with the English Premier League set to return on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

The Gunners, who currently sit five points behind leaders Liverpool, will be hoping to pick up the maximum points as they seek to put themselves in a better position of lifting their first league title since the 2003/2004 season.

The Mikel Arteta-coached side visit the City Ground on the back of a huge 5-0 win over Crystal Palace in a match where Gabriel dos Santos Magalhães and his Brazilian compatriot Gabriel Martinelli both scored twice with Leandro Trossard also finding the back of the net.

The convincing win came as a relief to Arsenal fans, particularly after the poor run witnessed in December.

Arsenal had failed to pick up a win in four consecutive matches, suffering defeats at the hands of Liverpool, Fulham and London rivals West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest will prepare for one of their toughest tests this season with the expectations of bouncing back from their 3-2 narrow defeat in the hands of Brentford nearly two weeks ago.

Superb strikes from Arsenal-linked Ivan Toney, Ben Mee and Neal Maupay were enough to sink the Garibaldis who scored their goals through Chris Wood and Brazilian midfielder Danilo dos Santos de Oliveira.

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal Team News

Arsenal will miss the services of Dutch defender Jurrien Timber and Fabio Viera, who are both nursing injuries.

Takehiro Tomiyasu will also be unavailable because he is currently at the Asian Cup with Japan. The clash will also come too early for Mohamed Elneny whose nation Egypt was knocked out of the AFCON tournament on Sunday night by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Furthermore, reliable midfielder Declan Rice is a doubt for the trip due to the knock he picked up in the Gunners’ recent demolition of Crystal Palace.

However, should Rice miss the game, Arteta has other quality players like Jorginho who can fill the void left by him. Thomas Partey, who played a crucial role last season, is also expected to make a return from a lengthy injury spell.

Similar to Arsenal, Nottingham Forest do not have many injury concerns ahead of the crunch tie. The only potential absentees are Taiwo Awonyi and Anthony Elanga, who are nursing groin and hamstring injuries respectively.

Nuno Espírito Santo will also miss the services of Super Eagles defender Ola Aina, Moussa Niakhate, Willy Boly, Cheikhou Kouyate, Serge Aurier, and Ibrahim Sangare who are all with their respective nations in AFCON.

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal Prediction

Arsenal seemed to have overcome their struggles in front of goal as witnessed in their clash against Crystal Palace.

The Gunners’ defense is also one of the most solid in the league this season with William Saliba and Magalhães forming a formidable partnership.

However, the visit to the City Ground has not been easy for Arsenal in recent years and any slight loss of concentration on Tuesday is likely to put them in trouble.

Football fans should expect an entertaining match with goals, particularly from the visitors.
