Arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester United are set to lock horns on Sunday, December 17 in an eagerly anticipated Premier League clash that comes at a time when the two sides are on a completely different level.

Liverpool occupies the top spot in the league standings with 36 points while Man United sit at position six with 27 points.

The last time the two sides met at Anfield Stadium, Manchester United were hammered 7-0 in one of the heaviest defeats in their rich history.

Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah each scored a brace with Brazilian international Roberto Firmino, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli, adding the icing on the cake in the final moments of the entertaining encounter.

This time round, Man United go into the match on the back of two defeats and will be seeking to give their fans something to smile about after experiencing the pain of being bundled out of the prestigious UEFA Champions League tournament earlier this week in the group stage.

Meanwhile, a high-flying Liverpool FC side prepare for the clash expecting nothing less than a win since a slip might allow last season’s runners up Arsenal and a determined Aston Villa side to overtake them.

Liverpool vs Man United Prediction

Although Man United have had more time to recover, their injury crisis will make it difficult for them to hurt Liverpool.

Furthermore, Anfield Stadium is one of the toughest stadiums in the Premier League to visit, hence the hosts are expected to have an upper hand in the tie.
