3K FC welcome regional rivals Murang’a SEAL to Moi Stadium in Embu on Sunday afternoon as the two sides meet for the first time in the SportPesa League in what promises to be an intriguing Mulima Derby.
The newly promoted 3K FC are still searching for their first top-flight victory after drawing their opening two matches.
They began with an entertaining 2-2 draw against Mara Sugar before securing a dramatic 1-1 draw away to Bandari, with a stoppage-time equaliser earning them a point.
Murang’a SEAL, meanwhile, come into the derby with three points from their opening two matches.
They suffered a 4-2 defeat to defending champions Gor Mahia before responding emphatically with a 5-1 demolition of Posta Rangers.
Their two matches have produced a league-high 12 goals, underlining their attacking threat while also exposing some defensive vulnerabilities.

Team News
3K FC have two injury concerns ahead of the Murima Derby against MSEAL.
Star winger Michael Owen Amwayi picked up a knock during the opening 45 minutes against Bandari FC and could be sidelined for up to two weeks, although the club says he will continue to be monitored.
Meanwhile, Kevin “Master” Wanyonyi remains out with a knee injury and is set to undergo further scans to determine the extent of the setback.
For Murang’a they have welcomed back defender Robert Mudenyu after a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury. The experienced centre-back’s return provides a timely boost to Dennis Odhiambo’s squad as the Seal look to build on their 5-1 victory over Posta Rangers.
Top scorer Josephat Lopaga is the biggest threat for the visitors. The forward has scored four goals in two Gameweeks, including a brace against Posta Rangers, and is currently leading the SportPesa League scoring charts.

Sunday’s encounter will be the first competitive meeting between 3K FC and Murang’a SEAL in the topflight with no previous head-to-head record between the two sides.
The inaugural meeting therefore carries an added significance, with both sides looking to establish an early advantage in what is expected to develop into a fierce regional rivalry.
With 3K FC on two points and MSEAL on three, both sides have plenty to play for. A victory for the newcomers would take them above their regional rivals, while another three points for SEAL would strengthen their position in the middle of the pack.

Nairobi United have picked up two points from their opening two matches after draws against KCB and Shabana, while APS Bomet have one point following a goalless draw with Mathare United and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Gor Mahia.
The two sides have met twice in the league this year, with APS Bomet winning 2-1 at Nyayo National Stadium on 4 February before the return fixture ended in a goalless draw at Gusii Stadium on 29 March.

Elsewhere Mombasa United host Kenya Police at Mbaraki Sports Club from 15:00Hrs, with both sides still searching for their first victory of the season.
The hosts have lost their opening two matches against Kakamega Homeboyz and Mara Sugar, while Police have collected just one point from a draw with Migori Youth and a 2-1 defeat to AFC Leopards.
The encounter will also mark Kenya Police’s first match without head coach Nicholas Muyoti, who departed the club alongside assistant John Baraza after two league matches, with the club saying the duo had been released to pursue CAF A coaching qualifications. Former Bidco United coach Anthony Akhulia has since been appointed interim coach.
